Bangkok is a great city to visit with your family. It is very kid-friendly. There are so many activities — from exquisite temples to adventurous bike parks to interactive museums to epic indoor playgrounds, etc. They also have some really incredible family-friendly places to stay. We’ve lived here for more than 15+ years, so we wanted to share some of the best hotels in Bangkok for families that we’ve found over the years.

About Hotels in Bangkok for Families
Hotels in Bangkok usually only accommodate 2 people per room. So finding a place to stay in Thailand for a family can sometimes be tricky — especially if you have 3+ kids like we do!
Since we’ve lived in Bangkok for 16+ years, we’ve found a few special gems and put together this list of the best hotels in Bangkok for families.
But BEFORE BOOKING any place to stay, I highly recommend reading these MUST KNOW TIPS FOR STAYING IN BANGKOK. You’ll also hear why I suggest staying in a hotel versus an AirBNB in Bangkok. Even though for other cities, I usually prefer an AirBNB.
Novotel Living Bangkok Sukhumvit Legacy is one of the best hotels in Bangkok for a ‘family of 4’:
- We personally usually stay in a Novotel because 2 kids up to age 16 stay free (very rare in Thailand!)
- Each room is equipped with a kitchenette and living areas (also very rare for a Bangkok hotel) and makes this place feel more like an AirBNB condo with the comforts of a hotel resort
- A swimming pool with a waterfall and slide as well as a children’s wading area that’s only 50cm (about 1.5′) deep. The older kids would have a blast trying out the Zorb Ball!
- Kids Club Room – Playtopia – has a ball pit and small toys for the littles as well as board games and a Nintendo Switch video game area for older kids.
- There’s a cafe, library and co-working space for the parents to hang out or get a little work done right next to the Kids Club.
- They also have rooms with bunk beds, which is great for families
- Also baby cot / cribs are available upon request
- Super delish breakfast buffet (Note: do read my post on ‘Must Read Tips Before Booking a Hotel in Bangkok’!)
- lots of restaurants, 7-11s, and street food within a 5 min walk
- About a 10 min walk to the BTS Asoke Sky Train Station
- About a 10 min walk to the MRT Asoke Subway Station
- Also within a 10 minute walk to Terminal 21 Mall and Benjakitti Park
Best Island Hopping Tour
One of the best hotels in Bangkok for large families is Jasmine Grand Residence!
JASMINE GRAND RESIDENCE HIGHLIGHTS:
- I have had numerous friends and family who stay here when visiting Bangkok. My own family has even stayed there just for fun to use their epic pool!
- Most Rooms have a living area, kitchenettes and even a washing machine
- A fantastic swimming pool with a fun slide as well as a children’s wading area that’s only 50cm (about 1.5′) deep
- Has a bathtub in most rooms (rare for Bangkok!) — and great for bathtime with the littles or a relaxing soak after a long day on your feet!
- Breakfast Buffet is pretty decent
- About a 15 min walk to the BTS Ekkamai Sky Train Station — or take advantage of the free shuttle to the BTS that the hotel provides
- A small grocery store called MaxValu is on-site
- Lots of restaurants, a market with delish street food, and 7-11s are all within a 5 min walking distance
- It’s in the city, but it’s on the side of town that is closer towards the Suvarnabhumi International Airport — about a 30-45 min taxi ride at about 300-400 baht (about $9-11 USD)
BEST FAMILY HOTEL IN BANGKOK:
JASMINE GRAND RESIDENCE
With 1, 2, and 3 bedroom suites that have a living room, dining area, kitchenette, washing machine, etc. for only about $55-$110 USD!
The delicious buffet breakfast, the friendly reception who are ready to help you 24 hours a day in a foreign country, and the epic swimming pool with a slide, fountains, and kiddie area make this a great choice!
Grande Centre Point is a great hotel in Bangkok for families for easy access to public transportation and also great views!
HIGHLIGHTS:
- I’ve stayed here with my family and thoroughly enjoyed it — if it’s your first time in Bangkok, this is a great HUB to enjoy the city!

LOCATION: the best location by far
- Literally steps away from both the Asoke Sky Train Station and Asoke MRT Subway Station
- Be prepared for heavy traffic in this area, so it’s best to take the BTS or MRT from this hotel
- Steps away from Terminal 21 Mall — go to the 5th floor for a great food court with lots of local favorites at great prices (50-100 baht or $1.50-$3 per dish)
- Steps away from incredible restaurants (including Pala Pizza Bistrot which is run by a true Italian and the best pizza in town!)
- Lots of street food and 7-11s and massage spas all within a 5 minute walk
- About 45 min-1 hr to the Suvarnaphumi Int’l Airport (about 450 baht taxi ride or $14 USD)
In the same family as the Jasmine Grand Residence, the Jasmine Resort is my top pick for a great family hotel right at a Sky Train station:
HIGHLIGHTS:
- This is my first choice for my own family and friends to stay, but if they need something more budget friendly, then I encourage them to stay at Jasmine Grand Residence
- Family friendly suites with living room and kitchenettes and even a washing machine
- A rooftop swimming pool with a shallow area that kids could play, a jacuzzi, sauna, and steam room
- Breakfast Buffet is pretty decent
- Right at the bottom of the stairs to the Phrakhanong BTS Station
- A small grocery store called MaxValu is about a 2 minute walk away
- Lots of restaurants, cafes, street food and 7-11s within a 5 minute walk
- Very close to a foodie night market called W-District – about a 5 min walk
- It’s in the city, but it’s on the side of town that is closer towards the Suvarnabhumi International Airport — about a 30-45 min taxi ride for about 300-400 baht (about $9-11 USD)

Internet Service in Bangkok is a Must!
It’s a no-brainer that you’ll need to stay connected while traveling in Thailand — whether it’s for using GPS, researching the best island hopping tour packages, or letting the kids have some downtime a little Bluey on YouTube.
Don’t do the T-Mobile or AT&T International Roaming plans for about $10 a day — it’s a total rip off!
You can get the same exact service for much cheaper and just as easy with our tips below:
E-SIM: I highly recommend getting an eSIM from Airalo to have great internet service all over Thailand. They are actually using the same local providers that AT&T, T-mobile and Verizon will use.
I have personally used Airalo many times traveling to multiple countries all over the world, and it works great and is SUPER easy to install.
To use your Airalo eSIM, you simply buy a package then scan the QR code they send in an email to install and activate the eSIM.
The packages run from only $9.90 for 50 GB of data to $19.95 USD for Unlimited Data in Thailand.
TIPS FOR TRAVELING AROUND THAILAND WITH KIDS: If you let your kids watch YouTube, Netflix, etc, then I recommend getting the Unlimited Data. But if you’re not video streaming, then 50 GB of data is enough to browse the internet, use Google Maps, and stay in touch with friends back home.
PHYSICAL SIM CARD: You could also pick up a physical SIM card at the airport upon arrival or at any mall, which would have a TRUE shop, DTAC shop, and/or AIS shop. You would need your passport on hand. The physical SIM + a prepaid service card would cost about 350 baht (~$10 USD), but it usually only comes with 5GB of Data. So Airalo is a much better deal.
TIP: If you plan to use a physical SIM card, then be sure to contact your local phone provider (such as AT&T or Verizon) before traveling overseas to check that your phone is already unlocked. They can usually do this for you over the phone.
